Discipleship and Church Planting

Story from India...
Place: HARYANA – "JESUS" film supervisor Lomas reported that since he received the "Following JESUS" DVD, the work of follow up became easy. Through showing "Following JESUS," many people responded positively. Viewers particularly liked the "Johnny Lever" role; his testimony really touched their hearts.
"Through this follow-up DVD, I am able to reach many more houses." Local Pastor Yacob is helping the people to grow in Jesus Christ.
"My dream is that, in the future, every "JESUS" film product will include follow-up materials that help people to be assured of their faith, learn how to walk with Jesus, and continue in their faith to become lifetime laborers."

The JESUS Film Project
The largest obstacle standing in the way of new believers truly following Jesus is that follow-up resources and Bible study materials simply do not exist in many languages. The Discipleship and Church Planting team is dedicated to producing these vital materials. We partner with Campus Crusade for Christ staff members and pastors around the world to develop follow-up and discipleship materials which are biblically accurate and culturally relevant.
We believe that everyone should have an opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel—and then be able to grow into a strong, fruitful member of the body of Christ. We pray that the materials we develop will allow new believers to establish churches where true discipleship can flourish.
Current Projects:
"Following JESUS"
"Following JESUS" is a video-based discipleship series used to ground new believers in their faith.Using dramatized storytelling techniques and incorporating clips from the "JESUS" film, unique versions of "Following JESUS" teach biblical principles and demonstrate how to live as a follower of Christ in a new believer's heart culture.
Creative teams, consisting of local Campus Crusade for Christ staff members and members of Discipleship and Church Planting (DCP), design a series of episodes to be used during follow-up discussion sessions. Each "Following JESUS" series is designed specifically for the particular area’s strategy. This approach pairs a visual portrayal of the gospel with the opportunity to answer questions, build a new believer’s faith, and establish deeper relationships. We currently are producing two distinct series for Africa and for South Asia.
"Following JESUS: Africa" addresses the foundational biblical truths that can help new believers grow in their faith, such as assurance, confession, and how to be filled with the Spirit. But it also addresses uniquely African subjects like spiritual warfare and African religions—all chosen by African leaders from across the continent.
"Following JESUS: India" addresses topics similar to those in the African series, but with an Indian flavor. In addition, the Indian leadership designed a two-part series, Part One was designed to help new believers coming out of a Hindu culture understand that being a follower of Jesus means trusting Him alone.
Shellbook
DCP and leadership from Campus Crusade Africa have partnered with Shellbook Publishing to make printed discipleship resources available for every translation of the "JESUS" film. Shellbook's localization method ensures that core concepts are maintained, while allowing local staff members to contextualize the principle in a way that target audiences will understand. It is perfect for ministries wishing to adapt materials to their culture, making the concepts come to life for the reader.
Follow-Up for "Magdalena: Released From Shame"
DCP personnel have met with staff members in the "10-40 window" area to develop a cohesive group of products to enable follow-up and discipleship ministry among those who respond to "Magdalena: Released From Shame." The tools currently in development consist of three elements: 1) Follow-up films (similar to "Following JESUS") geared toward women's specific discipleship needs, 2) audio devotions, and 3) written Bible studies and leaders' guides.
