Summer of Opportunities to Advance the Gospel

"So will My word be which goes forth from my mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it" (Isaiah 55:11, NASB).
 

• Summer is the peak season for short-term mission trips. Missions teams will take 20 outreach trips to Africa, Europe and the Middle East in June, July and August. Pray, not only for teams showing the film “JESUS” and giving people evangelistic DVDs, but also for those who will now hear the gospel—many for the first time—through these numerous efforts.
• Marking 20 years of independence and freedom from the Soviet Union, Estonia is celebrating with a new version of the “JESUS” film called “Terra Mariana.” This new DVD is a key tool to be used in the “Heartbeat Tallinn” summer outreach campaign. This July, 600 workers and students will mobilize in the Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, to share the gospel and distribute DVDs. Pray that the “Terra Mariana” video will effectively touch the hearts of people in this country, which is considered by many to be the most secular, spiritually cold nation in all of Europe.
• Continue to lift up the “Magdalena” DVD distribution follow-up in Greece—a country in severe economic and political turmoil. Pray for the tens of thousands of women and families who received the videos this spring through the Easter season outreach and viewed the film. Pray that the gospel message portrayed will give hope and bring salvation to many.
• Lift up the ministry’s work on building a Digital Media Distribution platform for disseminating more than 64,000 pieces of our films and video content via the Internet. Pray that the project can be completed by late summer and available for global use by fall. Making our film evangelism available to other people and partner organizations could accelerate the spread of the gospel exponentially in just the first year!

• Pray that funds for the launch of our digital media distribution platform will be raised and matched by the August 31st deadline.
• Pray for a good response to the June postal mail appeal seeking underwriting for church-planting film and partner teams. Pray that as friends read the letter, many will be prompted by the Holy Spirit to give and help support the workers taking the gospel to people in both open and restricted-access nations worldwide.
• Pray for the the completion of a video documenting the work of the ministry in East Asia. Pray that the editing will be completed on time and that the video will touch the hearts of those who see it. Pray also that many will be led to support the work in that area of the world.
• Pray that a broad appeal for “Mission 865,” a project providing new translations of “JESUS” for the least-reached people groups across the globe, will inspire financial commitments at all levels.
• Pray for good connections with friends and ministry partners during the summer months through telephone as well as face-to-face visits. Pray for a special focus on meeting with friends in the Denver, Colorado, area in early August.
• Pray for the follow-up from the Asheville, NC, briefing in April. Pray that those who made financial commitments will have wisdom in knowing the best ways to fulfill them. Pray especially that those who made commitments to support film teams and the digital media distribution project, both of which are tied to matching gifts, would be able to meet their commitments by the July 31st deadline.
