Cameroon: The Most Fruitful Mission Trip

In May 2008, JESUS Film Mission Trip leaders Jim* and Matt* took a team deep into the remote villages of Cameroon to screen "JESUS" for unreached tribes. Fifteen team members partnered with dozens of Cameroonian pastors and evangelists to conduct what Jim called "the most fruitful mission trip I have ever been a part of." During this two-week trip, 17,763 people heard the gospel at 16 film showings, and 4,280 placed their faith in Christ-an astounding response rate of 24 percent. Additionally, the team helped plant two new churches!

Jim shared a priceless experience forever etched in his memory: "After a late-night film showing which we completed at 11 p.m. in a remote village, our team was waiting for the bus to come and collect us. Eight hundred fifty-seven people had just seen the "JESUS" film, with 313 people indicating salvation decisions. Then about 200 people in the audience broke out in spontaneous praise, worship, and dancing. Others stood watching them impassively and stone-faced. I assume those dancing were those who had decided to follow Christ and the bystanders were those who had not made a decision to receive Christ. The enthusiastic group continued the singing and dancing for a full hour until our bus arrived, overflowing with joy after seeing "JESUS." We are grateful to God and to the Cameroonian national ministry for a fruitful time of ministry outreach."
