Churches Planted in Rwanda—The Land of a Thousand Hills

Faith Comes By Hearing, a ministry committed to providing the Word of God for the world's vast illiterate population, developed the Proclaimer, a solar-powered, digital audio player. Campus Crusade for Christ‘s national director for Rwanda envisions planting 1,000 churches-one on each hill in Rwanda-starting with the use of "JESUS." After showing the film, listening groups-new believers who gather regularly to listen to the Bible using the Proclaimer-begin. Within a few months, the groups grow to the point where participants decide to build a church. Members of this new church then take the Proclaimer to nearby hills to begin other listening groups, often resulting in more church plants. Today church after church can be seen on Rwanda's numerous hills. Many began as a result of the "JESUS" film and the use of the Proclaimer.
