A New York Church Helps Bring the Gospel to the Minas in Benin

  • North America

Members of the North Shore Community Church in New York funded the Gen-Gbe translation of the "JESUS" film, spoken by 158,000 Mina people in Benin. As part of the Minas Project, six members from the church traveled to Benin to participate in the premiere of "JESUS" in Gen-Gbe. A local pastor recalls that significant day: "Old people came who have lived their whole life never hearing the gospel of Jesus. ... Children came by the hundreds ... in every village, in every marketplace, in every town. They came to hear the story of Jesus. And when the movie was over, our trained team preached the gospel and invited people to hear the voice of the Lord calling them."

During the first week of Gen-Gbe ministry, teams hosted 76 showings of "JESUS," attended by 28,913 people. A total of 2,505 Mina people prayed to receive Christ that week. Pray for continued growth among the new believers.
