Rwandan Man’s Life Transformed

Faith Comes By Hearing, a ministry committed to providing the Word of God for the world's vast illiterate population, developed the Proclaimer, a solar-powered, digital audio player. JESUS film teams in Rwanda use the Proclaimer after showing the film in illiterate areas to form listening groups--new believers who gather regularly to listen to the Bible.

Everest, an alcoholic who practiced a lifestyle of immorality, joined one of these listening groups. He gives this testimony: "One day I met a friend who invited me to come and listen to the Bible, and it was then that I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior! I brought my family to hear, and they came to Christ. I directed my children to listen to the Proclaimer, and they have all accepted Christ as well. With my family, now all believers in Christ, I've been allowed to use the Proclaimer to start new groups to reach people and they are very happy to be able to listen. We will start with 10 listeners, but the group will quickly grow to 20 listeners. Often too many come, and we cannot all fit in the place of listening. That's when we start another group, and each group always grows. Most of the people cannot read or write, and many have never heard the gospel, but can now because of the Proclaimer!"

Praise God for Everest's transformed life and for all the lives changed as a result of hearing the gospel through the Proclaimer. Pray for Everest, his family, and all the other new Rwandan believers that they will continue to listen to God's Word and grow into deeply devoted followers of Christ.
