A Cry of Desperation

In South Asia, two church-planting team members began work among a people group. As they showed "JESUS" to the local community, they watched the crowd grow excited about the miracles Jesus performed. Following the film, Ranal*, a man who had come from a neighboring village to watch the film, began walking home. Suddenly, out of the darkness, a bear approached. Terrified, Ranal had little time to act, but in his desperation, he remembered the miracles he had seen in the "JESUS" film. "Jesus! Save me," he cried out. Immediately a truck came into view on the road and as the bear saw the headlights, it turned and lumbered back into the jungle. Ranal continued his journey home, rejoicing how Jesus had answered his desperate cry for help. The following morning, Ranal found the two church planters who had shown the film. By God's grace he placed his faith in Jesus that very day and began hosting a prayer group in his home.
