During the past 10 years, the “JESUS” film has been an integral part of Campus Crusade for Christ’s ministry to the United States military. Their goal: to place at least one copy of the videocassette on every military base and ship, as well as in the homes of all military personnel.
“The ‘JESUS’ film is one of our key resources, number one on our list,” said retired General Dick Abel, executive director of Campus Crusade for Christ’s Military Ministry.
Chaplains receive the ‘JESUS’ video as part of a “Chaplain’s Box.” The Box also contains Bibles and a variety of other ministry tools. Since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Campus Crusade has given more than 300 Chaplain’s Boxes to all branches of the military.
Onboard ships, “JESUS” is made available to naval personnel in a number of ways, including placing a copy in the library for personal use, broadcasting it over the ship’s television network, and conducting film showings in designated sections of the ship. Chaplains report that it has been well received among the sailors and Marines.
Please pray for our military personnel as they are deployed to the Middle East that they will look to the Savior for comfort and strength. Pray that the “JESUS” film would help them understand God’s love and care for them as they spend this Easter season far from home and family.
A special note to deploying U.S. Forces and their families and friends: There is special information for you on the Military Ministry’s Website at: http://www.milmin.org.
