Our Lord commands us to proclaim the gospel and make disciples in every nation. He desires that we use every means, everywhere. He promises that He will be with us, that His Word is truth and will bear fruit—achieving the purpose for which He sent it (see Isaiah 55:11).
That's why we continually refine the work of the film teams and their ministries of mobilization, to more effectively follow up and ground new believers,
to expose them to the truth…His Word, that they first experienced through "JESUS."
When a strategic partner, Faith Comes By Hearing, introduced an innovative follow-up tool that could make ongoing hearings of the Word of God possible in a people's heart language, we became very interested. You see, most people in the world are oral learners. The majority are functionally illiterate. But they are great listeners with profound powers of memorization.
Partnering with "JESUS" film teams, Faith Comes By Hearing tested Proclaimers in 501 new groups of believers (who had come to Christ after watching "JESUS"). Every week the groups gathered around a Proclaimer and listened intently as God spoke to their hearts. Then they discussed what they had heard. The results were extraordinary.
After using a Proclaimer, nearly all the original groups continued meeting. The 6,000 people who had first come to Christ grew to 16,000 people. And those same groups, on their own, had planted 1,500 more listening groups, bringing in 11,000 more people. Just by letting others listen to the Word of God…6,000 became 27,000!
“Teach me good discernment and knowledge,
For I believe in Your commandments.
Before I was afflicted I went astray,
But now I keep Your word”
(Psalm 119:66-67, NASB).
Already the Proclaimer strategy has been introduced to teams in 17 countries with immediate plans for at least a dozen more. Once the New Testament is recorded by local speakers, Proclaimers can be loaded with virtually any language. Listening groups and Proclaimers work especially well in closed, restricted countries.
