Jim was a hard-working man all his life. He lived simply, enjoyed gardening and giving. His son Craig describes his dad as being "very generous…always loving to share with others."
It was that spirit of sharing that helped lead Jim to be a long-time partner with The JESUS Film Project. Craig said his father really enjoyed reading and hearing the many reports of how God is using "JESUS" to draw millions to Himself. (We enjoy reading those reports as well!)
When Jim retired he relied in part upon his IRA accounts and other retirement assets. When he learned in advance of his homecoming (he was diagnosed with terminal cancer), Jim made plans to keep on giving.
He gave instructions so his family would be cared for. He also directed that whatever was left over in an IRA account, one used to cover his hospice care expenses, was to be equally divided among four of his favorite charities. The JESUS Film Project was among them.
Craig said his dad didn’t fear death. The Lord graciously minimized any suffering he could have endured. In fact, he was looking forward to being reunited with loved ones and seeing God.
Thank you Craig for allowing us to share your dad's story. Over the years numerous friends like Jim have included The JESUS Film Project in their advance planning. They wanted to know that their legacy would still help draw hundreds, perhaps thousands to Christ, so they could meet in eternity.
