Our vision, and new website

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance“ (2 Peter 3:9, NIV).

When I think of the Great Commission, I think of 2 Peter 3 as well. Along with Jesus’ command to “go and make disciples,” Peter reminds us that while the mission is huge, God’s purpose will be accomplished. All we need to do is stay the course.

Together, with your help, we are going to do just that. That’s why today, I’m excited to unveil the new Jesus Film Project® website, with a fresh look, and—most importantly—a clear focus on reaching the world with Jesus.

From the beginning, Jesus Film Project was envisioned by Dr. Bill Bright and Paul Eshleman to be a vehicle for the world to engage the story of Jesus through film. Through the years, we have stayed true to that vision, while pushing into ever-expanding territory.

Today, "JESUS" is available in more than 1,400 translations. But the job is not finished.

And we now have films that speak to women, children, athletes, diplomats, the abandoned, the privileged, the hopeless and the media-bombarded. Yet more are needed.

If you have a smartphone in your pocket, you can join the 400,000 others who have downloaded the Jesus Film Media app that will empower you to share the gospel through any of the films and languages mentioned above. It is so easy to use; it only takes two minutes of training. But the work is not finished!

More than 1,500 mission agencies in nearly every country on earth have worked to plant hundreds of thousands of churches using strategies and tools of the ministry. Through these joint efforts, billions of people have been exposed to the gospel! But many more are needed to complete the task.

We are not finished because right now nearly 5 billion people have yet to encounter Jesus—and it will take each and all of us to reach them.

And that is simply what Jesus Film Project is all about. We are called to engage the world with Jesus. Every language. Every tribe. Every city. Every person.

And so, with the same vision and passion intact, and with the full backing of our parent organization, Cru, and partners the world over, we intend to accelerate our efforts. You play an essential role in engaging people in your sphere of influence with Jesus through film.

Please join us in inviting even more people to invest their time, talent, or treasure in the greatest adventure—fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission!

The new website, a fresh look and expanded “toolbox” are designed to make it simple for you to become equipped to do just that.
