In their darkest hour, Jesus appeared to light the way.

This Father’s Day you can help send them light.

During the dangerous journey across the Aegean Sea to Greece, a group of refugees in one boat were so frightened, they called out to God. When a “shiny heavenly figure” appeared, the entire boat knew it was Jesus. From that point the sea became calm and peaceful, and they finally landed safely on shore.

Convinced that the heavenly figure was truly God, they all wanted to become followers of Jesus.

Many weeks later, the refugees were together in a disciple group, sharing what happened with their Bible teacher—himself a former jihadist and now a vibrant Christian. He is the one who passed their testimony onto us.

God has a heart for all people. He desires that they come to faith in the Light of the World, Jesus.

By the thousands, Iraqi and Syrian refugee families who have survived their trek over land and sea must now spend their nights in abandoned buildings, store fronts, garages, open spaces or tents. In camps without electricity, they often sit in darkness.

This Fathers Day, you can send a Tribute Gift, recognizing your dad—any dad—and give refugees this amazing, Light Their World solar-powered lamp.*

A worker didn’t have time to explain to a refugee that there was an audio player contained in the lamp.  The next day, the refugee told the worker with joy, “You didn’t just give me light, you gave me The Light of the World!”  That worker said the need is huge and growing, that they could use 50,000 lamps for refugees right now.

“I think there is an incredible opportunity for Christians to respond in this [refugee] situation as the body of Christ, as the hands of Jesus Christ, to reach out and bless and encourage and help those who are so desperately in need of help.”
