Soledad’s Faithful Friend
A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother”
(Proverbs 18:24, NKJV).
Doors Open for “JESUS”
Like many in his country, Soledad* resisted the gospel message, at first. When his friend, Alfred*, tried to tell him about Jesus, he totally rejected it.
One day—despite years of resistance—Alfred worked up the courage to approach Soledad once again and they talked about Jesus, and His bearing of everyones sin on the cross. While Alfred prayed his boldness didn’t offend his friend, Soledad seemed to be OK and answered, “Oh yes, I believe that, and have for quite a while.”
“Shocked, Alfred asked how he could have changed so dramatically. Soledad replied: It’s true, I was confused about Jesus. But I then started watching the ‘JESUS’ film on TV every night, and now I understand. It is true Jesus atoned for all sin and if we follow Him, He takes responsibility for our sin.” Thus, after many years Soledad started to show interest and they studied the gospel together.
The “JESUS” film is now being shown on television in Soledad’s country all day, seven days a week and in more than 60 languages! The Holy Spirit has used the global pandemic to open doors for the gospel on TV in more than 100 nations. Soledad is just one of 10,000 who recently have come to understand the true story of Christ.
Television and radio broadcasts are growing in effectiveness to reach large numbers of people across vast areas who are often difficult to access by other means. Since the mid-1990s, Jesus Film Project® has rarely had an opportunity to broadcast on secular television in the Middle East, Central Asia, and other closed nations. However, recently, a national believer working at a TV station opened the doors to broadcasting during Christmas week.
