The greatest gospel gap in the world is in 50 countries—they have barely any new, thriving churches. And nearly 75% of all the world’s unreached people (3.6 billion) live in 12 of those countries. These people have the least access to the gospel in their own language.

Engage in strategic, focused prayer for the 12 countries of the world that are least reached with the gospel without ever leaving home.

Every month in 2023 we’ll feature one of these countries, familiarize you with its culture, and share prayer requests addressing the country’s specific needs. We believe the light of Jesus can shine through!?

All about Egypt

This month in Egypt—the land of the Great Pyramids and the Nile River—the majority of Egyptians will celebrate Ramadan. The Ramadan holiday represents an extended time of fasting, prayer, reflection and gathering in community. Let’s pray that as Egyptians come with seeking hearts, Jesus would reveal Himself!

The official language of Egypt is Arabic. English and French are also widely understood by some of the population.

In Ancient Egypt, cats were not pets. They were considered sacred and were thought to bring good luck.

Many say the tradition of exchanging wedding rings began in ancient Egypt around 4000 B.C. The left ring finger was chosen because Egyptians believed a “vein of love” ran from that finger directly to the heart.

Eqypt spans two continents through the Sinai Peninsula, which forms a land bridge between Africa and Asia.

The Sahara Desert covers most of Egypt and on average receives zero to three inches of rain each year. The largest hot desert in the world, the Sahara is about the same size as the United States and makes up almost a third of the African continent.

Pray for God’s wisdom and blessing upon the Christian church in Egypt—that its people will live out biblical truth and share their faith, thus transforming hearts in this country.

Pray for Christians in Egypt who are in places of leadership throughout the country. Ask God to fill them with godly wisdom so they can influence other leaders to make the best decisions for their people.

Pray for more Egyptian Christians to be trained to use media and web-based resources to share the gospel with others and help new believers grow in their relationship with Jesus.
