Jesus Calms the Storm

Jesus gets into a boat and tells His disciples they should all go to the other side of the lake. Along the way, Jesus falls asleep. A storm starts to rage. Waves stretch high over the bow. And the boat starts to take on water. The whole time, Jesus stays asleep. The disciples hold on tight. They try to keep the boat afloat. Finally, Peter cries out to the still sleeping Jesus. He tells Jesus that the boat is taking on water and that they'll all be drowned. Jesus stands and puts a hand out toward the storm. The storm clears. And the seas immediately calm.

Luke 8:22-25

One day Jesus said to His disciples, “Let us cross to the other side of the lake.” So He got into a boat with them and set out. As they sailed, He fell asleep, and a windstorm came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. The disciples went and woke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters, and they subsided, and all was calm. “Where is your faith?” He asked. Frightened and amazed, they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him!”
