Promise of Restoration

It's easy to see that the world is broken. It often feels deeply personal. And in its brokenness, we each experience moments that have wounded us deeply. Those wounds grow. They spread and they infect every part of who we are. Brokenness seems to define us. But what if brokenness is not the end, but the beginning of the story? The truth is that there is someone who is sent to mend those wounds to heal a broken world. The Bible teaches us that with brokenness comes promises of redemption and restoration. In the Japanese art of kintsugi, a master craftsman repairs a broken vessel using powered gold. The final result is that the vase is more valuable after it has been restored. Restoration changes who we are. And Jesus is at the center of that work. He transforms the shattered pieces of ourselves into a new creation. It is through Jesus that we can find healing. And though our old wounds may still be visible, they are reflections of His healing promises. If you find yourself feeling broken, remember your story is not over. God is close to the broken, waiting for you to open your heart and embrace the promise of restoration.
