Do you see me? Once, I was beautiful. I danced in the breeze between heaven and earth. I waved to white clouds. My leaves pointed to the blue sky as the sun shone on me. The wind whispered in my ears as I fell asleep under twinkling stars and the glowing moon. My dreams were sweet..and I was loved. This was how I used to be... Then one day, everything changed. I'm no longer who I'm supposed to be. This is not just my story…but ours. Our story changed when sin entered into the world. Since then, we have lost paradise. The stars and moon shine in the sky as they laugh at my loneliness. The lake silently lies next to me as it ignores my pain… The night is long, cold and unbearable. I can no longer stand. I can no longer lift my head up. No one sees me and no one cares. But we are not alone! There is more to this life than we know! There is purpose to our lives. Our lives matter. We…matter! Because we are valued and loved by the one who created us. God created us and he will never leave us. He has rescued us through his Son Jesus Christ… And Jesus knows how we feel because he became one of us. In the Bible, he promises that he will deliver the oppressed and help the needy. He has done it before and he'll do it again. He will carry us through all trials and sufferings. He will bring his children safely into the promised land where there will be no pain or sorrow. He will wipe away every tear because he loves us…and… He was bruised for us. Do you see Him?
