Then Jesus said to all of them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet lose or forfeit his very self? If anyone is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. But I tell you truly, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.”

누가 나를 따르겠느냐?
주여, 제가 당신을 따르겠나이다
그러나 가족에게 작별인사부터 하게 하소서.
손에 쟁기를 잡고 뒤를 돌아보는 자는
하나님 나라에 쓸모가 없느니라.
나를 따르고자 하는 자는 자신을 버려야 한다.
매일 십자가를 지고 나를 따르라.
누구든지 자기 생명을 구하는 자는 잃을 것이요,
나를 위하여 자기 생명을 버리는 자는 얻으리라.
온 천하를 얻고도 자기를 잃으면 무슨 유익이 있겠는가?
누구든지 나와 내 말을 부끄러워 하면
인자도 자기와 아버지와 거룩한 천사들의 영광으로 올 때에
그 사람을 부끄러워할 것이다.
분명히 말하노니,
너희 중 몇몇은 죽기 전에 하나님 나라를 반드시 볼 것이다.
