When You Feel Like You're Not Enough

"You want it. You've never wanted anything like you want this. And it's out there. The net, waiting for you to kick the ball. The tape, daring you to break it. The scoreboard, standing ready to proclaim your victory. This is what you've trained for, what you've suffered for. And you've sacrificed. You've seen the good things your friends have. But you've made your choice. You can't have both. You've chosen the harder road. And when the moment comes, you're ready. You couldn't be more ready. You give everything you have. And then you give more. This is your moment. The moment you've waited for all your life. But something happens. Something goes wrong. And suddenly, all your training, all your will, all your desire isn't enough. You are not enough. And all around you is a world that believes in winners, achievers, closers succeeders, advancers, producers. And you now feel like you have no place there. You thought you did. But you were wrong. And now you don't know where you belong. But here's something you might not know. God sees everything you've done. He knows about defeat. About experiencing crushing disappointment. He knows what it's like to suffer loss. He knows because he lost us. That's where it should have ended. But God refused to admit defeat. He was able to take the burden of our failures and losses onto himself. And in exchange, give us new life and a way to move past our shortcomings. Because of him, we don't have to be defined by our losses. Because God says it's not over yet. In Him, we have everlasting victory.
