Who Is Jesus?

A doctor examines the local villagers. A young boy has a fever. They remember Jesus healed sick children and the father can't help but hope that Jesus would perform a similar miracle for his boy. One of the women remembers how much Jesus cared for the children. He fed them, and others too. He told His followers to never be afraid, because He'd care for them. The disciples called out to Him when it looked like they would be killed by a storm. But Jesus calmed the storm immediately. They wonder what being with Jesus in person would be like. They hope that Jesus will heal the boy. Jesus healed a demon-possessed boy and a blind man in the film they watched. So the boy could absolutely be healed as well. He says they should all pray to Jesus with sincere hearts for what they need.

Luke 7:11-17

Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain. His disciples went with Him, accompanied by a large crowd. As He approached the town gate, He saw a dead man being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said, “Do not weep.” Then He went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. “Young man,” He said, “I tell you, get up!” And the dead man sat up and began to speak! Then Jesus gave him back to his mother. A sense of awe swept over all of them, and they glorified God. “A great prophet has appeared among us!” they said. “God has visited His people!” And the news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and all the surrounding region.

Luke 8:22-25

One day Jesus said to His disciples, “Let us cross to the other side of the lake.” So He got into a boat with them and set out. As they sailed, He fell asleep, and a windstorm came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. The disciples went and woke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters, and they subsided, and all was calm. “Where is your faith?” He asked. Frightened and amazed, they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him!”

including a woman who had suffered from bleeding for twelve years. She had spent all her money on physicians, but no one was able to heal her. She came up behind Jesus and touched the fringe of His cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. “Who touched Me?” Jesus asked. But they all denied it. “Master,” said Peter, “the people are crowding and pressing against You.” But Jesus declared, “Someone touched Me, for I know that power has gone out from Me.” Then the woman, seeing that she could not escape notice, came trembling and fell down before Him. In the presence of all the people, she explained why she had touched Him and how she had immediately been healed. “Daughter,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”

Luke 9:10-17

Then the apostles returned and reported to Jesus all that they had done. Taking them away privately, He withdrew to a town called Bethsaida. But the crowds found out and followed Him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and He healed those who needed healing. As the day neared its end, the Twelve came to Jesus and said, “Dismiss the crowd so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside for lodging and provisions. For we are in a desolate place here.” But Jesus told them, “You give them something to eat.” “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered, “unless we go and buy food for all these people.” (There were about five thousand men.) He told His disciples, “Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each.” They did so, and everyone was seated. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, Jesus spoke a blessing and broke them. Then He gave them to the disciples to set before the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

Luke 9:37-43

The next day, when they came down from the mountain, Jesus was met by a large crowd. Suddenly a man in the crowd cried out, “Teacher, I beg You to look at my son, for he is my only child. A spirit keeps seizing him, and he screams abruptly. It throws him into convulsions so that he foams at the mouth. It keeps mauling him and rarely departs from him. I begged Your disciples to drive it out, but they were unable.” “O unbelieving and perverse generation!” Jesus replied. “How long must I remain with you and put up with you? Bring your son here.” Even while the boy was approaching, the demon slammed him to the ground in a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy, and gave him back to his father. And they were all astonished at the greatness of God. While everyone was marveling at all that Jesus was doing, He said to His disciples,

Luke 18:35-43

As Jesus drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting beside the road, begging. When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by,” they told him. So he called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Those who led the way admonished him to be silent, but he cried out all the louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Jesus stopped and directed that the man be brought to Him. When he had come near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” “Lord,” he said, “let me see again.” “Receive your sight!” Jesus replied. “Your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

Following Jesus Who is Jesus? Uh yes, you come please. Son, what happened to you? The boy's condition is not so good. The fever is also very high. I'm giving you some of these pills. Give it to him after his meals and along with that some medicine. OK. Thank you doctor. Yes? Yes doctor. Come, son. Come sit. Doctor, my son is very sick. He's been suffering with cough for the last two days. Hello Bhadri. Hello Shankar How is little Pratap now? No change Shankar, no change at all! I can't bear to see him in this condition. Don’t know what to do. Just can't understand. Looking at him reminds me of Jesus' miracle... ...as to how He made that sick boy walk again! Yesterday I too was thinking about the same miracle. It would be so wonderful if it happens to us too! I really feel sorry for that poor little boy, Pratap. I know, we feel so helpless in this situation... and no one can do anything. Now our only option is God. Yes, didn't you see in that movie all that Jesus Christ had done? Gopi and dad were saying the same thing. What? Well, just that He loved children very much. He fed the hungry, and was always attentive to the needs of people. And to those who put their faith in Him No matter what will happen He always assured them. Never to be afraid. Master! Master! Jesus! We are about to die! The waves are swamping us. We'll all drown! Save us Master! We're going to be saved! Where is your faith? Gouri? Yes? What do you know about Jesus Christ? Not much really. Grandpa had told me a few things. Like thousands of years before His birth, several prophets had, had predicted... ...that such a person will be born. And even before His birth, it had already been written in the Holy Scriptures. That means His birth was prophesied? Yes, absolutely! And in that scene, in the movie where they showed the widow's dead son... ...I was really stunned, as to how the Lord Jesus raised him from the dead in front of all the people. The dead was the only son of a widow. When Jesus saw her, His heart was filled with compassion. He touched the coffin and said, "Young man, get up I tell you." Then the dead man sat up, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. Jesus really lived a very Holy life. He sat down with those who are poor and down trodden, whom society had rejected. I feel, and it seems, as if He's walking and coming this way! He was amazing Remember that woman who was sick for many years? Who managed to touch Jesus, and was healed completely! Yes, haha.. So?... Ha! you three girls have met up again, I see? Come on, Come on! What's the gossip about? Uncle, we were just talking about Pratap. Is there any hope for him getting well? Yes of course, hope is what we all live on. Uncle, those things that were shown in the movie, were they all true? Can He really deliver us from all our sicknesses? It seems like that, my child. Why would they lie? And what about that woman who touched Jesus? She took lot of courage! Her courage must be hailed, my child. You see, as per the customs of those days... ...she couldn't have said that, come and touch me. But she had complete faith in Him. She had this belief that if she were to touch even the hem of His robe, she would be completely healed. Jesus turned and asked "who touched me?" Those who were standing around Him said, "There are so many people crowded around you." "That person must be one of them." Jesus then said, "Someone has touched me." "I know that power has gone out of me." When that woman realized that she cannot hide anymore... ...she came trembling, and fell at the feet of Jesus. She said she had a chronic disease for twelve years, and when she touched the hem of Jesus' garment she was healed! Jesus told her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you." "Go in peace!" Uncle? What do you think? You think Jesus is God? In the beginning, I did not feel so. But the more I read about Jesus, and learned about Him... my love for Him started growing immensely. He helped so many. Did so many miracles. Knowing and understanding His miracles, and His teachings helped me to know God... ...that Lord Almighty, who created us. Who created this entire world. Can I ask you a question, uncle? Were only these words enough for you to have such faith in Jesus? Look, my dear, a man can have faith on any subject. Only when it touches his heart. I may not be able to explain this entirely. I don't know why that many of times I felt like I had touched the hem of His garment... And something within me has changed completely! Although, during that time there were many greatly revered people... ...but Jesus was different. You know, it was only Jesus who had pardoned even His killers. Because He always knew, that life was not a matter of vengeance. He had established a relationship, between us and God... ...because after all, He Himself was God. If Jesus was with us today, our village would be so much better! My child, who told you He's not with us? He is present everywhere, all the time! But how, uncle? Look, my child, why do you think Jesus came in this world? To be with us... isn't it? To share our joys and sorrows, and understand our troubles, right? But those days were different... There was a lot of poverty... ...only a handful were rich, they were greedy! Law was on their side... ...and the poor were exploited, and oppressed. They carried a lot of burden... ...and in all that, in all that, Jesus was born. He came as the true messenger of truth... ...and spread God's message to the masses. Although He had accepted death for Himself, but then He came back to life again! Now tell me, if He did not have this kind of power within Him... ...how would He have come back to life again? That shows, He never left us. Which means, His death on the cross is the central theme of this story! Absolutely right! We have redemption through the shedding of His blood... Try and think, how God might have felt while doing this. It is very difficult to accept this... ...leave alone sacrificing our children for anyone... ...it is difficult to sacrifice for anything else. I believe that even today, He's in our midst. If I were to meet Him today, I would say to Him, my Lord!... ...please heal my Pratap! I cannot bear to see him in such pain. Uncle, Jesus can heal little Pratap, right? Why won't He cure him? Okay in the movie, didn't you see that boy? How he was possessed by the demon... ...shaking, and foaming at the mouth. Jesus looked at him and understood immediately. He was possessed by a demon. Jesus commanded the evil spirit, "Let go, leave him! Go from here, go away!" And then they all fled. Teacher! Teacher, please do something for my son! Please, please help him, for he is my only child. I've begged Your disciples to cast the demon out of him, but they could not. O faithless and perverse generation, how long am I to be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here. His face has been healed, too! How wonderful! Now you tell me, if Jesus could do all that, then won't he heal our Pratap? Such compassion, and such miracles can only come from Almighty God! Then is it true, that Jesus was God? Absolutely! There is no doubt about it! Now think for a moment... ...as to how that blind man pleaded, and said: "Jesus, have mercy on me." Jesus asked him, "What do you want from me?" He replied, "I want to receive my sight again... ...and see the world around, And Jesus immediately healed him! Now just think for a moment. One who can do such things, why won't He heal our Pratap? He can do it, but we have got to ask Him with a sincere heart. What won't we do for Pratap? For once, let us approach Jesus with a sincere heart, and see. Who knows, a miracle can happen. I agree! Let's ask Him right now! Lord Jesus! Have mercy on us, Relieve Badri's family of their pain. Liberate this village from calamity! Without You, our life is incomplete, Jesus! When you ask in simple faith, you will receive In darkness He shines like a lamp He can be seen in every aspect of creation He can be seen in every aspect of creation He has captured vivid pictures of every aspect of our lives Every color of this world is reflected in His face Every color of this world is reflected in His face He resides in every breath
