사형선고를 받으신 예수님
예수님은 헤롯 궁에서 끌려나오십니다. 예수님과 무리는 빌라도의 뜰로 돌아옵니다. 그는 제판석에 앉아 예수님이 채찍질 받기를 명령합니다. 제사장들은 다시 입을 엽니다. 그들은 빌라도에게 유월절에 한 사람을 놓아 주는 전례를 기억시킵니다. 군사들은 예수님을 뜰에 장대에 묶어 살을 찢어내는 아홉 가닥짜리 채찍으로 등을 때립니다. 빌라도는 뜰에서 떠나기 전 걱정하며 지켜봅니다. 빌라도는 두루마리 책을 들고 돌아갑니다. 예수님은 풀려서 다시 빌라도에게 끌려갑니다. 그는 십자가에 못박힘 심판을 예수님의 발에 떨어뜨립니다.

공유Then Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people, and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined Him here in your presence and found Him not guilty of your charges against Him. Neither has Herod, for he sent Him back to us. As you can see, He has done nothing deserving of death. Therefore I will punish Him and release Him.” But they all cried out in unison: “Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!” (Barabbas had been imprisoned for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.) Wanting to release Jesus, Pilate addressed them again, but they kept shouting, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!” A third time he said to them, “What evil has this man done? I have found in Him no offense worthy of death. So after I punish Him, I will release Him.” But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices for Jesus to be crucified. And their clamor prevailed. So Pilate sentenced that their demand be met. As they had requested, he released the one imprisoned for insurrection and murder, and he handed Jesus over to their will. As the soldiers led Him away, they seized Simon of Cyrene on his way in from the country, and they put the cross on him to carry behind Jesus.
