Jesus Weeps Over Jerusalem
Jesus, His disciples, and a large crowd of followers approach Jerusalem. When it's in sight, Jesus stops and looks out over it. He talks of how Jerusalem could not see and understand a path to peace.

As Jesus approached Jerusalem and saw the city, He wept over it and said, “If only you had known on this day what would bring you peace! But now it is hidden from your eyes. For the days will come upon you when your enemies will barricade you and surround you and hem you in on every side. They will level you to the ground — you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.”

Gesù si avvicinava sempre più a Gerusalemme.
E quando vide la città, si mise a piangere per lei.
Se almeno oggi
tu sapessi ciò che occorre alla tua pace! Ma non riesci a vederlo.
Verrà il tempo che i tuoi nemici
ti circonderanno di trincee, ti assedieranno da ogni parte
e distruggeranno tutto ciò che è dentro di te.
E tutti i tuoi figli.
E non lasceranno pietra su pietra,
perché tu non hai riconosciuto la circostanza in cui sei stata visitata.
