The world is filled with beauty, wonder, and diversity.
And yet, something isn't right.
We all feel it.
We may not always be able to identify what it is, but we know it's broken.
We experience it through injustice, pain, and suffering.
Is this how the world is supposed to be?
Long ago, God created everything from nothing by speaking it all into existence.
He filled it with light and life.
It became heaven and Earth, a place of majesty and wonder.
Then God made humans in His own image, His greatest creation.
God looked at everything He had created and defined it as good,
and He trusted humans to faithfully care for everything He had made
as His representatives.
God gave people this authority for the purpose of serving others
and spreading wholeness and beauty throughout creation, with God as their
source of defining good and evil.
But humans chose to define good and evil without God.
Their choice brought all humanity under the curse of sin and death.
They sank deeper and deeper into brokenness,
and all creation suffered for it.
We've tried to find salvation, but history has proven that there's
nothing we can do to save ourselves.
Every human given a chance to rule apart from God eventually does what is good
in their own eyes rather than God's.
We are stuck in an endless cycle of sin and death.
But God is determined to rescue us from our pain, not because we could ever
do anything to earn it, but because He loves us.
Instead of turning away from us, God became one with us in Jesus.
In Him, the fullness of God came and dwelt in a human body.
Jesus showed us how to live in a fallen
world as an ideal human
in the image of God.
Then, He died for us, taking all of our mistakes
and pain into himself on the cross.
Jesus gave His life to heal the brokenness in all of us.
He rose from the dead so that we could have everlasting life as part of a new
humanity, free from the bonds of sin and death.
Through Jesus, God is making this broken world whole again.
All we have to do is believe in what Jesus did for us, to realize that we are broken
and there is nothing we can do to fix ourselves and to ask God for forgiveness.
He is inviting us to turn from doing things our own way
to a relationship with Him, to live as He meant for us to live without
sin, without hurting others or the world around us, to live like Jesus lived,
spreading life, beauty, and goodness here and now.
In the age to come, humanity will live as one family with God in a world
no longer broken by evil.
Like Jesus, we will be resurrected to new life
and glorified bodies that have been fully freed from the grip
of death and sin forever and ever.
Our eternal fate is not up to us.
It is not something we can achieve or earn.
God offers us the gift of salvation freely because of His great love for us.
All we need to do to receive God's rescue is to believe what God has
done for us through Jesus.
