Then the chief priests and Pharisees convened the Sanhedrin and said, “What are we to do? This man is performing many signs. If we let Him go on like this, everyone will believe in Him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”

Want we hadden een Redder nodig. Rome heerste over ons met ijzeren vuist. Al het dierbare werd ons afgenomen en wat restte werd belast. Er was honger, lichamelijk en geestelijk. En iemand moest ons de weg naar God wijzen. Na jaren van tegenslag en teleurstelling leken de meesten het verleerd nog te hopen. Maar Jezus bood hoop waar Hij ook ging.
