We certainly needed a Savior.
Rome ruled us with an iron fist.
They took everything dear to us and taxed what little was left.
We were hungry, physically and spiritually,
and we needed someone to show us the way to God.
After years of disappointment and struggle,
most of us were unable even to hope.
Yet, Jesus seemed to offer hope wherever he went.
