Parable of the Lamp
Jesus uses a torch to explain how his followers should live. No one covers the light or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it in a place where people will see the light when they come in. He goes on to say that whatever is kept a secret will be brought into the open. And anything that's covered up will be found and brought into the light.

Quan algú encén un llum, no el tapa amb un gerro,
ni el posa sota el llit.
El colloca a la vista
perquè els qui entren puguin veure la claror.
No hi ha res d’amagat que no s’hagi de descobrir,
ni res de secret que no s’hagi de saber tard o d’hora.
Mireu, doncs, com escolteu,
al qui té, li donaran encara més;
en canvi, al qui no té, fins i tot allò que es pensa que li queda li pendran.
Mestre,
la teva mare i germans son aquí,
i et volen veure.
La meva mare i els meus germans són els qui escolten la paraula de Déu,
i l’obeeixen
