5. Jesus, Our Compassionate Provider
Will He take care of me? Jesus raises the only son of a poor widow from the dead. Did you know during Jesus' day virtually no special provisions were made for widows because the oldest son had the duty of providing for her? The widow in this story would have been destitute if Jesus hadn't responded to her need.

શેર કરોથોડા દિવસ પછી નાઈન નામના શહેરમાં ઈસુ ગયા, અને તેમના શિષ્યો તથા ઘણાં લોકો પણ તેમની સાથે ગયા. હવે તેઓ શહેરના દરવાજા પાસે આવ્યા ત્યારે જુઓ, તેઓ એક મરેલા માણસને બહાર લઈ જતા હતા; તે તેની માનો એકનો એક દીકરો હતો, અને તે વિધવા હતી; શહેરના ઘણાં લોક તેની સાથે હતા. તેને જોઈને પ્રભુને તેના પર અનુકંપા આવી, અને ઈસુએ તે સ્ત્રીને કહ્યું કે, ‘રડીશ નહિ.’” ઈસુએ મૃત્યુ પામેલી વ્યક્તિની પાસે જઈને તેની ઠાઠડી અડક્યા એટલે તે મૃતદેહ ઊંચકનારા ઊભા રહ્યા. અને ઈસુએ કહ્યું કે, ‘જુવાન, હું તને કહું છું કે, ઊઠ સજીવન થા.’” જે મૃત્યુ પામેલો હતો તે ઊભો થયો, અને બોલવા લાગ્યો. ઈસુએ તેને તેની માને સોંપ્યો. આ જોઈને સર્વને ઘણો ભય લાગ્યો; અને તેઓએ ઈશ્વરનો મહિમા કરીને કહ્યું કે, ‘એક મોટો પ્રબોધક આપણામાં ઊભો થયો છે, અને ઈશ્વરે પોતાના લોકોની મુલાકાત લીધી છે.’” તેમના સંબંધીની વાતો આખા યહૂદિયામાં તથા આસપાસના સઘળા પ્રદેશમાં ફેલાઈ ગઈ.
