Over a period of 40 days after his suffering,
he showed himself alive
by many convincing proofs.
Speaking of things concerning the kingdom of God.
Stay in Jerusalem.
Do not leave until after the fulfillment
of the Father's promise
of which I have spoken.
Now all authority is
mine in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore, make disciples of all nations,
baptize them in the name of the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Teach them to live in the way which I
have commanded all of you to live.
And I am with you
all the time, until the very end.

Men of Galilee,
why do you stand looking into the sky?
This Jesus who ascended to heaven
will return in the same way you
have seen him go up to heaven.
