Blessed are you who are poor, for the kingdom of God is yours. Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now,... ...for I say you will laugh. And blessed are you when men hate you... ...ostracize you, and spurn your name... reject it, as evil, for the Son of Man's sake. Be glad in that day and exult, for your reward will be great in heaven... For that is how their fathers treated the prophets. But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your comfort! Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and you will weep. Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets. But I say to all of you who hear, love your enemies. I say do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. I say pray for those who mistreat you. And if you only love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. I say be merciful, just as your father is. Do not pass judgment. You won't be judged. And do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive and be forgiven. Give and it will be given to you. Good measure. Press down, shaking together. Running over will be put into your lap. For what measure you deal out to others is measured to you.
