祈りと信仰についての教え
イエスはどのように祈るべきかを人々に教えたところです。「求めよ、そうすれば与えられるであろう。」イエスは、探し求めるようにと説き、そうすれば必ず見つけられると、人々に確信を与えます。 子供が良い物を求めるのに悪い物を与える親は居ないと、イエスは人々に思い出させ、悪い人間ですらその子供に良い物を与えることを知っているのだから、天の父は、なおさらの事、求める者には聖霊様をもお与えになると、イエスは言います。

For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storehouse or barn; yet God feeds them. How much more valuable you are than the birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? So if you cannot do such a small thing, why do you worry about the rest? Consider how the lilies grow: They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not be concerned about what you will eat or drink. Do not worry about it. For the Gentiles of the world strive after all these things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added unto you.
