İsa Yeruşalim’e doğru yol almaya başlar.Yeruşalim’in hemen dışında palmiye dallarına ve bir eşeğe sahip bir kalabalık bulunmaktadır. O eşeğin üzerine çıkar Yeruşalim’e doğru devam eder. Kalabalık bağırır ve sevinç çığlıkları atar. İnsanlar İsa’ya bir yol oluşturması için battaniyeler ve palmiye yapraklarını yere sererler. Bazı Ferisiler yolu kapatır. İsa’dan öğrencilerini susturmasını ister. Ancak İsa güler. Onlara kalabalık susarsa taşların bağıracağını söyler.
