Then Jesus said to all of them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet lose or forfeit his very self? If anyone is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. But I tell you truly, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.”

Vrea cineva să Mă urmeze?
Eu Te voi urma, Doamne.
Dar mai întâi lasă-mă să merg şi să-mi iau rămas bun de la ai mei.
Oricine pune mâna pe plug şi se uită înapoi
nu este vrednic de Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu.
Dacă voieşte cineva să vină după Mine, să se lepede de sine,
să-şi ia crucea zilnic şi să Mă urmeze.
Căci, oricine va voi să-şi scape viaţa, o va pierde.
Dar, oricine-şi va pierde viaţa pentru Mine, o va câştiga.
Ce-ar folosi unui om să câştige toată lumea, dacă şi-ar pierde sufletul ?
Dacă se va ruşina cineva de Mine şi de cuvintele Mele
şi Fiul Omului Se va ruşina de el când va veni în slava Sa
şi în slava Tatălui, şi a sfinţilor îngeri.
Adevărat vă spun...
Unii dintre voi nu vor muri înainte de venirea Împărăţiei lui Dumnezeu.
