Affetmek, eksik kalan bir dikiş gibidir. Eğer hemen tamir edilmezse, acı delik büyüdükçe büyür. İsa, kendi çektiği acıları insanların da O'nun adına çekeceğini söylemiştir. Rivka diğerlerine öğretse de, onun da günahlarıyla mücadele ettiğini görüyoruz. Kimse mükemmel değildir. Herkesin İsa'ya ihtiyacı vardır. Pavlus'un Yeni Ahit'te öğrettiği gibi diğerlerine cevap vermek te bir seçimdir. Sadece Kutsal Ruh'a dayanarak bu seçim yapılabilir. Diğerlerinin verdikleri yanıtlara rağmen seçim yapılması gerekir. Diğer kişi özür dilemeyebilir. Veya asla sizin özrünüzü kabul etmeyebilirler. Ancak tepkileri, affetmemizi ve af dilememizi etkilememelidir.
