Peter Declares Jesus to be the Christ

Jesus asks who the crowds say He is. Peter speaks up immediately. He claims that some in the crowds say Jesus is John the Baptist. Others say He's Elijah. Others say that one of the prophets from centuries ago has come back to life. Jesus solemnly asks who Peter would say He is. Without hesitation, Peter says Jesus is God's Messiah. Jesus stares back at him.

有一次，耶穌獨自禱告的時候，門徒們和他在一起。耶穌問他們，說：「眾人說我是誰？」 他們回答說：「是施洗者約翰，有的說是以利亞，也有的說是古時候的一位先知復活了。」 耶穌問他們：「那麼你們呢？你們說我是誰？」 彼得回答說：「是神的基督！」 耶穌告誡他們，吩咐他們不要把這事告訴任何人。 又說：「人子必須受很多苦害，被長老們、祭司長們和經文士們棄絕，並且被殺，然後在第三天復活。」
