The greatest gospel gap in the world is in 50 countries—these countries have barely any new, thriving churches. And nearly 75% of all the world’s unreached people (3.6 billion) live in 12 of those 50 countries. The people in these 12 countries have the least access to the gospel in their own language.

We can engage in strategic, focused prayer for the 12 countries of the world that are least reached with the gospel without ever leaving home.

Every month in 2026 we’ll feature one of these countries, familiarize you with its culture and share prayer requests addressing the country’s specific needs. We believe the light of Jesus can shine through!

All About Thailand

Thailand is a beautiful country with a unique history and rich cultural background. Even as its neighboring countries were colonized by Western nations, Thailand remained an independent country. Formerly known as Siam, Thailand adopted its new name, meaning “land of the free,” in 1949.

Today, Thailand is home to many languages, cultural practices and religions. Let’s pray that every Thai person will experience the true freedom and joy found in Jesus.

Thailand’s floating markets are reminders of when waterways were the main trade routes in Thailand. Vendors sell everything from souvenirs to colorful fruit and vegetables to freshly grilled seafood on traditional longtail boats.

Christian missionaries who first arrived in Thailand in the early 1800s helped greatly advance education and healthcare.

The vast majority of Thai people follow Theravada Buddhism, a form of Buddhism that encourages participants to strictly adhere to ancient Buddhist teachings and traditions.

The median age in Thailand is 40.2 years––one of the highest in Southeast Asia. This is due to declining birth rates and increased life expectancy.

The Thai Elephant is the national animal of Thailand. Buddhists revere elephants for their strength, wisdom and patience.

Pray With Us

Thailand is home to over 70 unique languages. Pray that every Thai person hears the good news of Jesus in his or her heart language. Pray for accurate translations of the many Christian materials in progress.

Some regions in Thailand have known the gospel for several generations. However, many third- and fourth-generation believers are leaving the faith, showing a lack of interest and involvement. Pray for a revival of the faith within these generations. Pray that God will provide updated ministry resources that will speak to the Thai people in their heart language.

Pray for trained local Christian filmmakers to create short films and other media to introduce Thai people to Jesus. Ask God to use the tools they create to bring many into a relationship with Him.
