Pakistan

The greatest gospel gap in the world is in 50 countries—they have barely any new, thriving churches. And nearly 75% of all the world’s 3.6 billion unreached people live in 12 of those 50 countries. These people have the least access to the gospel in their own language.

Engage in strategic, focused prayer for the 12 countries of the world that are least reached with the gospel without ever leaving home.

Every month in 2023 we’ll feature one of these countries, familiarize you with its culture, and share prayer requests addressing the country’s specific needs. We believe the light of Jesus can shine through!

All about Pakistan

From the shores of the Arabian Sea to the heights of the Himalayas, from arid deserts to the fertile farmland in between, the vast country and people of Pakistan are our prayer focus this month. Pakistan means “the land of the pure.” Let’s pray that countless Pakistanis know the pure, abundant life that He offers.

Urdu is Pakistan’s official language, though only a small proportion of the population speak it as their mother tongue. Children learn Urdu in school along with their regional language.

The world’s second and third highest mountains, K2 and Tirich Mir, are both located in Pakastan.

Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel Laureate, is Pakistani.

Pakistan is the world’s largest producer of hand-sewn soccer balls—known as footballs to most of the world. The official footballs of the last two FIFA World Cups were made in Pakistan.

The national drink of Pakistan is sugarcane juice, also called “roh.” The juice is sold by roadside vendors throughout the country.

Pray for great cooperation and synergy between various groups of Christian workers who are focused on reaching people groups that follow the majority religion with the story of Jesus. Ask that many will hear the gospel and respond to Christ.

Pakistan is the world’s fifth most populated country and has more than 200 million people that belong to 835 ethnic groups. We need many more Christian workers, especially local believers who have a background in the majority religion.

Satellite TV ministries broadcast sermons and other gospel-centered content to remote people groups in Pakistan and throughout Central Asia. Pray that the gospel shared through these media outlets would expose many remote communities to the good news of new life in Jesus.
