The greatest gospel gap in the world is in 50 countries—they have barely any new, thriving churches. And nearly 75% of all the world’s unreached people (3.6 billion) live in 12 of those countries. These people have the least access to the gospel in their own language.
Engage in strategic, focused prayer for the 12 countries of the world that are least reached with the gospel without ever leaving home.
Every month in 2023 we’ll feature one of these countries, familiarize you with its culture and share prayer requests addressing the country’s specific needs. We believe the light of Jesus can shine through!
All about Indonesia
Our first month’s “assignment” is on behalf of the country of Indonesia.
This sprawling nation is home to 275 million individuals across thousands of islands.
Indonesia is centrally-located along ancient trading routes between the Far East, South Asia and the Middle East, resulting in much diversity.
There are an astounding 300 local languages and over 500 dialects spoken in Indonesia.
Indonesia is the largest Islamic country in the world, with over 87% of the population identifying as Muslim. Roughly 10% of Indonesians identify as Christians and there are over 61,000 churches.
Indonesia has 147 volcanoes, and 76 of them are active.
Indonesia is one of the largest social media markets in the world, with Facebook being its most popular platform.
Pray with us…
The country’s hundreds of local languages and dialects make reaching Indonesians in their heart language very challenging. Pray for accurate translations in the many Bible and Christian materials in progress.
Pray for programs that train both children and educators on the dangers of human trafficking and the tactics of traffickers. Pray that Jesus would protect vulnerable young people from this threat.
Pray that many will see and respond to Christian social media posts and ads, sparking their interest in who Jesus really is.
